I’m still working on stupid wordpress and I’m stuck stuck stuck. Maybe one of you reading this could help me?

The thing is that I want my blog to be situated at my main page www.whirlwind.nu and not on www.whirlwind.nu/wp or something similar. And I want to integrate my site to wordpress by creating a theme matching my web sites css rather than integrating the feed to my site.

But if I understand it correctly I need to set up a www.whirlwind.nu/wp adress/folder for that since my index will be controlled by my regular css and wp controlled by a theme.

So the problem is that I want the blog to be the first thing you see when you enter my site, therefor I need it on www.whirlwind.nu, without that subfolder. But apparantly (?) if I want to go with the theme solution I need it to be in a subfolder.

So what do I do?

Ugh… wordpress… I think I tried the same thing when I installed my blog. I found some pages on it though, but I didn’t have enough motivation to do it all.

This might help, although your blog is already the first thing I see, so… I don’t know… Anyway, good luck. :)

I’m willing to help but I don’t quite understand your problems so sorry if it isn’t any help for you…
But when you type whirlwind.nu your wordpress shows, without any subfolders? So I don’t see the problem there? Or is it that when you want to use YOUR OWN theme that it shows like whirwind.nu/wp/…? Than I’m afraid I can’t help you… I copied the index file to my main (public_html) folder and the themes kinda worked with it? There’s a tutorial on the wp-site I think, don’t know where anymore…
Sorry if this was no help at all :(

Okay. After you upload wordpress go into your wordpress folder. There should be another folder named wp-content. If there is not create one. Inside that folder should be to other folders: plugins and themes. Go into themes and upload you theme into its own folder. Now log into your wordpress account and go to presentation. you should see your them there. Just click on it and your theme will be up. Now to get it to show up where you want. Go to options in your word press panel. Look at ‘WordPress address (URL):’ make it look similar to: http://www.whirlwind.nu/wp(or whatever the wp folder is named). now look at ‘Blog address (URL):’ and put: http://www.whirlwind.nu Okay one more thing go to the fist page of your wordpress folder. Copy the index.php file and put it with your sites main folder. Now your site should be on your main page with your theme. If you need any more help or if that was confusing e-mail me.

Hey Angelica!! Long time no comment or visit! I have been very busy and I hate the fact that I’m losing visitors.

I can see that you’re busy with installing Wordpress. This most be so frustrating because you never used this before!

You’re asking your visitors to help you with putting your blog on your index page. I’m guessing you already solved this problem because your blog was the first thing I saw.
If you want a good tutorial for making this WP theme to something you created yourself, you should check out http://www.xoxmariah.com. She has very good tutorials about this!

You can always contact me on my site, or through my e-mailadress if you can’t make it work.

You need to upload WP to your root directory. it appears as though you got it working already.

It looks like your word press is situated at your main domain. You just need to spice up the theme! I love word press. I hope you enjoy it also!
