I just watched the last episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and as usual after watching the final episode of a show I feel kinda empty and lonely. I won’t be seeing Buffy, Spike, Giles, Xander, Willow, Anya or Dawn again. Unless I start reading the Season 8 graphic novels which continue where the tv-series season 7 left off. I could also watch the spin-off “Angel” if it weren’t for the fact that I never found him interesting. He’s too melancholic. Spike on the other hand is interesting. Not to mention hot. I mean… a brittish punk vampire! You can’t go wrong with that! If I were Buffy I’d definitely choose Spike over emo-Angel.
So I’ve been watching a lot of Buffy lately. I started watching season 1 two months ago. During the past eight weeks I’ve watched 144 episodes, which took me 105 hours. That’s an average of watching two and a half episodes a day. This might seem like a lot of Buffy but this is tv for me. There’s nothing good on the actual tv so I mostly watch movies and old tv-shows on my computer instead. Now I need to find something new to watch. Anyone got any suggestions? No sitcoms please.
I was tagged by Tiniwini. Here’s eight facts about me:
1. I’m not romantic, at all. I prefer a rock concert over a romantic candle-lit dinner and I’d rather get a bottle of vodka than a bouquet of red roses.
2. I’m of swedish, finnish and sami heritage. Sami are kind of the native people of Scandinavia with a nomad culture much like the indians.
3. I only speak swedish and english but I’ve studied french and sign language.
4. My favourite tea is rubarb and cream.
5. I don’t want to be famous. I want to be a succesful writer but if I were I wouldn’t want to be on tv or be interviewed.
6. Cynism and misantrophy saves me from feeling too much pain when I look at the world. It’s easier to look down on the world and people than feeling sad because our society is fucked up and full of evil.
7. If I had a kid that one day told me he/she was gay that wouldn’t bother me. However if my kid told me he/she was a moderat (right-wing political party) I’d be very disappointed! Gay is just about who you fall in love with but being right-wing is being selfish and I wouldn’t want my kid to be a selfish capitalist.
8. I think crocs are the ugliest shoes ever made and I don’t understands how grown up people can walk around in colourful plastic shoes.
And I tag… everyone who want’s to be tagged since I don’t want to force this on anyone.

‘ve never watched buffy, I’m not sure why, everyone seem to like it..
i don’t know any good series I can suggest.. What genre do you like anyway?
wow, *stares at no.5*, I dream of being famous and interviewed by people lol.
Ahaah thank you!!!
And I usually don’t do prank phone calls much, either, lol.
LMFAO! i think crocks are disgusting too. Lol, i don’t get why so many people wear them. And I am currently in sign language
It’s easy to spot the whitetrash country people with their crocs and sweat pants.
he’s not a moderat though. more conservative something…
And I didn’t know you’re a same! cool!
my bf would have the complete opposite oppinion on 7! if we had a kid and he was a gay communist he’d kill the kid
we have a lot of deaf people at school, and i can’t help bit finding sign language intriguing, but it’s so much in the facial expressions that matters
I never watched Buffy. I don’t know why, guess it was a show I never got myself into. I watched Charmed for a while, and now I’m highly addicted One Tree Hill [but its one of those drama shows - Almost like Dawson's Creek - so I don't know if that would tickle your fancy at all.]
I think Crocs are ugly as hell, sadly though, I own two pairs. I think its because I love wearing slippers, and they feel like you’re wearing slippers or nothing really. They’re comfortable. Half the time, that does not make up for the look and/or ugliness of them. I always wear baggy pants to cover the vast majority of them. I am apart of this club. Someone could shoot me…
I agree with the gay child thing too. I would be alright if my child came to me saying they were gay. You can’t help who you love. Can’t change who you are.
Yeah, but the party was fun though
It really sucks when your parents take away what you want to do.
I was never a buffy fan. My show is Gilmore Girls. I have every season on DVD. I’m trying to find time to finish watching the 7th season before I start from the beginning again haha. But right now I’ve been downloading shows that are currently on tv and keeping up with them. I don’t have cable so that’s the only way I can see them.
You say you’re not a romantic. But can’t you enjoy going to concerts and drinking and still be a romantic? I could go to a concert and have daydreams about some hot rocker coming to me and telling me that he noticed me in the crowd and wants to take me away with him. I would still consider that romantic, but in a non-traditional environment I guess you would say. I think what you should have said is you don’t like that mushy lovely stuff, which I am not really a fan of either. But I would say I am a highly romantic person. No so much in showing it but in wanting romance in my life.
I agree with you on the crocs. I would never be able to wear them. They are the ugliest shoe I have ever seen and when I see a grown man wearing them I always have to smirk and point him out to my friends.
Hmm.
#1 I’m a romantic, I’ll admit it. Comedy club works though better than a romantic candle-lit dinner. Heh.
; pretty mix as well.
#2 I just learned something new today about Sami. Thanks
#3 Spanish & English; studied French as well.
#4 Don’t have a particular choice.
#5 Agreed. It’ll be nice just to have $ so I won’t have to worry about anything.
#6 I’m more of a positive person or I’d be way miserable and I know that’d suck me in fast.
#7 I figured I’d be happy with a kid that believes in anything or want to be himself. I don’t know yet if I get mad because I’m not that political.
#8 Definitely agree ^_^
I felt the same way after finishing this book called The Ruins. No more people dying from an evil plant.. I know, it’s sad when you come to the end of a show/book .. well, at least for me
I like Buffy, too. I guess my favourite is the movie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.. With.. Oh I can’t remember her name
Anywhoo.. Yes, they will go off your parents income if you are under 24, aren’t married or don’t have any children. Lame.. So, that’s pretty much why we’re moving the wedding up. We got our rings today, too!
Crocs are fugly. I know what you mean. Hahaha. I can only speak Filipino and English fluently. Japanese not quite, we only took that up for one semester but it was fun
I watched Buffy a few months ago, and it totally consumed me too. I loved the show so much that I had to rewatch all 7 seasons again shortly after finishing watching Angel. On some days I watched 5 episodes per day, 10 on the weekends.
I knew a lot of things that were gonna happen when I watched it the first time, so I already caught a lot of foreshadowing back then. But on my rewatch I came to completely appreciate the total awesomeness that is Joss Whedon. The man’s a genius. He dropped hints of things to come as early as 2 or 3 years in advance. Season 5 is chock full of ambiguous dialog…
Angel is OK. Like you, I’ve always been a Spuffy freak and hate Bangel. Angel’s lame (his hair goes straight up and he’s bloody stupid). The first 4 seasons are boring, but a few episodes are definitely must-watch eps (most of them are crossovers):
1.01 City of (just to get the idea and an intro, it’s not a crossover)
1.03 In the Dark
1.08 I will remember you
1.15 The Prodigal (not a crossover, but interesting background information)
1.18 Five by Five (must-see)
1.19 Sanctuary
2.07 Darla (awesome Fool for Love pendant)
2.09 The Trial
2.10 Reunion
2.11 Redefinition
4.06 Spin the bottle (not a crossover, but THE funniest AtS ep)
4.13 Salvage
4.14 Release
4.14 Orpheus
Those last three are a little weak too, but I just think that because I absolutely hate the S4 arc of AtS.
I think it’s safe to watch those episodes, and then continue watching the entire Season 5. I can’t really say this without spoiling anything, but if you love Spike, you’ll LOVE Angel’s Season 5
The rest of S1-4 is just full of standalone “Monster of the Week” episodes, with IMO very lame monsters. The season arcs in those seasons are either horribly executed, lame, or nonexistant. Actually the season arc in S5 could have used huge improvements as well, but that’s just how the show is.
In defense of Angel I have to say that he’s not emo all the time. He gets a bit of character development on his own show, and he’s quite different by the time seasons 5 comes along from the Angel we knew on BtVS.
I can’t really recommend the S8 comics though. They just plain suck.
Also, if you’re interest into more insight on how awesome this show is written, I can recommend Mike’s episode reviews on
http://www.superjer.com/buffy/reviews.php
Especially the ones for Restless and Once more with feeling helped me understand the meaning behind those episodes
As for new shows: Dexter, Six Feet Under or The Sopranos are worth watching
ahaha, i couldn’t stop laughing after reading your 8th fact! So true ahahahaha. It looks very ugly for me. I dunno if people really wear or buy it coz they say it’s so comfy, but… it doesn’t look that way for me. Or maybe they’re buying it coz it’s the latest trend lol XD
same here, i’m not romantic too. you’re mixed race, me too. i’m part filipino and part chinese. I only watch one show on actual tv, and that is Survivor. everything else is crap. XD
I love Buffy, spike was my fave character
Haven’t seen that show in years though, I’ll definately have to try and find one of my old tapes later.
And, I AGREE ABOUT CROCS! They’re so ugly, and I don’t understand how they’re supposed to be comfortable. The only people who they’re acceptable on are young children, with everyone else it’s a big no no lol.
I just started buying TV Shows on DVD, and one of my favorite shows is Charmed. I would suggest watching that!
I feel the same thing when I’ve finished watching a series. I’ve done it with American Dad, CSI, Dirty Job and soon I’ve done it with Heroes and Greys anatomy. Lucky for me they aren’t series that have ended. They are mostly just on haitus.
You don’t like Gossip Girl? Or how about… One tree hill? Grey’s Anatomy? Dr. House? Heroes? Prison Break? OC? CSI? Haha. Visit surthechannel and you’ll find lots of tv shows there.
It’s my first time here by the way. And I totally agree…
A british punk vampire.. Gaawd. Hot Hot. Hot!!!
Woot buffy the vampire is good
I LIKE VAMPIRES
i vant to drunk yur blurd

Aw, Buffy was such a cool show. But in Australia they moved it from 8:30 at night till like 2 in the morning so I stopped watching it. Would love to get back into it again.
OMFG, I know EXACTLY what you mean about Buffy/Angel ending — Yep, I always watched Angel, too — It’s so saddening!
I’ve got the first few issues of the comic though, and I must say … It’s a LOT like the show! In fact, it’s near identical, save, of course, the fact that it’s a cartoon comic, and not a live action TV show, LOL.
I plan to buy all of the DVD seasons of Buffy and Angel though, one day!
PS: Thank you so much for leaving me a comment about ‘The Surprise’ — I really appreciate it! ^^;
