Like some of you know Sweden is a monarchy, even though the king doesn’t have any actual power. He’s mostly a pretty (yeah, right) symbol who gets to travel the world to meet all kinds of important people as a poster boy for Sweden.

And like some of you also know I think it’s embarassing for a democratic country as Sweden to have a royal house with a title inherited. Sure the royal family might not have any actual power but they’re still a official symbol of Sweden. Shouldn’t people representing our country be elected by us, the people? I’m ashamed of this. Very, very ashamed.

In a year or two the swedish princess Victoria will get married. The royal house wants extra money to pay for her wedding. They already get millions every year and now they want even more? I thought that since I’m helping to pay for this wedding I should be invited to it. So I sent a e-mail to the royal house. First comes the swedish version and below that I’ve translated it to english. So here’s what I wrote:

“Hej Victoria!

Ds.

Puss och kram!”

And in english:

“Hello Victoria!

Since my tax money will pay for your wedding I think it would be nice to be invited. To only stand outside the church in the middle of a bunch of crazy royalists with cameras feels a bit boring. No no, I want to be in the church during the ceremony and at the reception afterwards. I should at least get a piece of cake! After all you get to get married in luxory on the cost of other people so can’t I have a small piece of cake? And maybe my grandmother could get one too? She’s paid taxes for at least fifty years. Just imagine how much money she’s given you! Can’t she have a piece of cake too? That would be so sweet.

Ps. What’s the dressoce for the wedding? Perhaps you could lend me something? Once again, think about how much money your family has got from me and my grandma. Ds.

Kisses and hugs!”

  2. Tin Tin says:

I didn’t know Sweden is monarchy. Anyway, it’s no different here. We have corrupt government officials that live on the people’s money. Sucks.

Anyway, about the panorama, the phone we used is a Walkman phone too, so I think your phone might also have the feature.

  3. Jhoice Jhoice says:

  4. Anna Anna says:

  5. snez snez says:

Omg you are so right! If you’re paying for part of it, you should at least get to see the bi-atch up close on her big day!
Good on you for e-mailing the bastards. I have no respect for royalty of any kind. Royal schmoyal. Honestly.

Thanks for the comment on my previous post by the way :)

  6. Monica Monica says:

We don’t have our own queen or king :] Shucks, I forgot what we’re called. I am so stupid haha.

I can’t believe that the need so much money. No offense but this is greedy. It’s true, you should vote for your queen/king.
This makes me sort of glad that we vote for our prime minister but we don’t get to choose the queen :P Of course the queen lives on the other side of the world…

I find your email sort of funny :P
Could you ask them to save me a slice as well?!?

    JACK SPARROW! me too :]

  7. Alexandra Alexandra says:

  8. Sakura Sakura says:

    It’s okay.

Wow. You actually wrote that to a princess?

  9. Maria Maria says:

hehe, you know I don’t agree with you. I’m actually PROUD of our monarchy due to the fact that not many countries still have a monarch, and that it’s a reminder of what a great country we used to be(emphasis on useeed) the tax money they cost is nothing compared to (you may not believe it) but it is a great income for the state-and a great ambassador.

And you may say he’s corrupt, but what would an elected president be, nothing but a puppet to the many big companies that wants someone to represent them. When the royal family is raised and has beeen for generations to serve the people. I think it’s lovley- the king has always been with the farmers side-against the rich “borgarna.”

I always feel that it would be the end of this country the day the monarchy dies, and when we’re all nothing but slaves to the EU and all nationalty is gone it will be sad.
I think Victoria seems levelheaded and smart, and I would be happy to help pay for her wedding. rather than seeing my taxmoney go up in smoke in immigrant neighboorhoods supporting thousands of leeching muslims that just destroyes everything.. anway kind of long.. :)

  10. Holly Holly says:
