I looked through a list of all animated Disney movies and I wasn’t surprised to realize that all of my favourite Disney movies were made in the 80s and 90s, the decades during which I grew up.
My all time favourite is Beauty and the Beast (1991) followed by The Little Mermaid (1989) and Aladdin (1992). I don’t think any movies followed by The Lion King in 1994 are worth watching. Perhaps I was just too old to apprechiate those movies when they came out, or they really aren’t very good. I go for the second.
Which are your favourite animated Disney movies?

I think they were also a lot better back then.
I think Pocahontas is my fave.
Beauty and the Beast && Sleeping Beauty is my fave disney movie. I used to watch it over and over back in H.S I am so crazy like that. I’ve been hooked on disney movies …and I think I still like the
Sleeping Beauty. I’m a sucker for the witch vs princess scenario. But mainly I love the atmosphere the artwork creates. Those were REAL cartoons, none of this crappy computer animated bullshit!
All time favorite: Alice in Wonderland. Second favorite: Beauty and the Beast. Also–I agree with Snez re: computer animated bullshit.
My fave disney films are probably Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast
I (to this day) still love Disney movies, and kids movies, and the Disney channel. (haha)
Uhm, favorite moviess… Pinoccio (sp), Lion King, 101 Dalmatians, I’m sure there’s others that aren’t popping up in my head right now..
Hmm… I don’t really like cartoons. I remembered that I used to love cartoons when I’m young. But not anymore.
My favourite disney movies were Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas.
Little Mermaid-Peter Pan-Aladdin-Beauty and the Beast..oh heck I love most of them pre-lion king as you said. but then again I’m also an 83 so =)
btw we had this guy in school having a lecture on comics, he pretty much hated disney because appearantly lion king already existed as a film/cartoon in japan but disney just ripped them off without giving credit or paying royalties. >< I don’t care..still love Disney!
The classic Disney movies are definitely the best! I gotta say for me, it’s a tie between Cinderella and The Little Mermaid.
Sword In The Stone. I’m pretty much the only person who counts this one as their favourite. Madam Mim is the best Disney villain ever!
It makes sense for your favorite Disney movies to be the ones that you grew up with. Mine are too
I haven’t even seen any of the newer ones.
I really only like The Lion King, Alice In Wonderland, and Bambi! MAYYYBE 101 Dalmatians and Aristocats as well, but those are a bit of a stretch. I’m definitely not a very big Disney fan! @_@;
It kinda annoys me, for example, that when you mention Peter Pan, or Cinderella, or Alice In Wonderland, people automatically think ‘OOOH DIZZNAY!!!1′ The original creators/authors of those stories never get the credit anymore, and that’s a shame in my eyes.
I love the lion king and bambi most i think
i grew up watching those alone with pinocchio and snow white
