You know which movie villain(s) I think is the scariest ever? Terminators! Watching the future scenes of the robot war in Terminator 1 and 2 makes my skin crawl.
Human villains with knives and guns doesn’t scare me at all. Ghosts scare me a lot. Terminators scares me even more. I mean, what do you think would be worst being chased by? Some guy with a knife, a ghost or a nearly indestructable robot with red eyes?
Terminator 2 is in my top three of the best movies I’ve ever seen and has been so since I was thirteen. Like you know, I love everything post-apocalyptic and in Terminator 2 I love the sadness the people in the movie feel about the destructiveness of mankind.
My favourite scene is when they’re getting weapons at Sarah’s friends place and two kids run around chasing eachother with guns arguing about who shot who. John looks at them and then say “We’re not gonna make it, are we? People I mean” and the terminator answears “It’s in your nature to destroy yourself”.
That’s very true. Just look at the world. Sooner or later we will destroy ourselves and the world we’ve built around us. I’m certain of it. Somehow despite all of our achievements I feel like we’re on our last breath. Our intelligence and technology will be our downfall.

Sadly, I think you have a very good point (about our intelligence and technology being our downfall). Just thinking of military weapons alone and how much they’ve advanced in the last 100 year or so…can you imagine the destruction we could cause in another 100 years with whatever we’ve come up with by then? It’s pretty scary to think about. But as for the Terminator movies, I have to admit I’ve never actually seen any of them. *hides* I don’t much like the sound of nearly indestructable robots with glowing red eyes though! X-P
You’re so right about this. All this technology though I love it, it’s terrible how dependent we’ve become on it. Even something as simple as communication we pretty much fail at these days.

I agree, the terminator in t2 are one of the most scariest villians -ever-. He never stops! ghosts are very scary too..

Gosh, I think this could go both ways, ala terminator style or something helpful style but it’s verging on your thought. It’s really scary. But I’m more afraid of ghosts coz it is unexplainable. I don’t know. Unexplainable is scarier than something you can see or explain. Really creeps me out @_@
I’m not too scared of terminators yet, I don’t think I’ll be able to catch that era anyway when Artificial intelligence will be so developed. I don’t think our generation will see that.
I completely agree with you on this one. Except then I think of the Transformers movie, and I want Bumble bee as my best friend, haha. I’m such a loser.
Even though people with knives and crap don’t scare me either…. those creepy people from The Hills Have Eyes scare the CRAP outta me!
I’m really scared of ghosts, too, to the point where i refuse to sleep alone. I could care less about robbers or kidnappers breaking in, but ghosts scare the shit out of me. Im always hearing fucked up shit at night.
And as for humans destroying the world – I totally agree with you on that. I believe technology is going to be the death of us, man. its sick. I read this book in grade five once about these people who were completely dependent on technology, to the point where they didnt even need to get up to excrete waste or anything. that book scared the crap out of me, haha. i’ve always thought thats what our world is going to be like one day in the future.

Gave me nightmares! ARGH! But then recently I realized it’s the guy from Happy Gilmour and that Jaws is actually quite a funny character, not to be taken seriously.

Terminators… pretty scary. I think I’d be more scared of Megatron from the Transformers, though. :´( If I woke up and saw him staring at me through the window… as much as I love the Transformers… that would certainly be the end of me. Or Galactus, from the Fantastic Four. Some guy who can change his size and eat whole planets… creepy.
Terminator is scary to me because it’s pretty realistic. I can see that happening if we are not too careful with the development with artificial intelligence.
