During the three years I’ve lived in this apartment my interior decoration have changed a lot. The room I had in my parents house was very much the room of a teenager even though I was twenty-three and when I moved to my very first home of my own I brought with me not all but some aspects of that room. Comparing photos of my home from 2006 and 2009 I realize how much my style has matured. Here follows a comparison of my flat then and now. And if you want to see more photos of my home check out the pictures I took yesterday as well.

my home
2006. I didn’t own a couch back then.

my home
2009. Nowadays I have a couch bed. And compare the size of the TV!

my home
2006.

my home
2009. Because I used to have a chest under the mirror it’s now located too high up but I can’t move it since that would leave even more holes in the wall.

my home
2006.

my home
2009. See the cat on the desk?

my home
2006.

my home
2009. I think I’ve doubled my book collection in the past three years. Can you tell?

my home
2006. I’ve built the star table and I love it but unfortunately there’s no room for it nowadays.

my home
2009.

my home
2006.

my home
2009. This part of the apartment looks pretty much the same.

my home
2006.

my home
2009. It’s too dark to tell but the wall with the black magnetic board on is actually white. I painted the kitchen walls to get rid of the fugly yellow which you still can see on the cupboards. If I planned on living here for a couple of more years I’d paint the cupboards white as well but I can’t be bothered with it now since I plan to move.

my home
2006. Too many colours!

my home
2009. But nowadays it’s aesthetically pleasing.

my home
2006. Here you can behold the fugliness of the walls before I painted them.

my home
2009. And here’s what they look like now. Quite a difference eh?

I love how your flat changed over the years! And how stylish it has really become! I wish I’d be able to decorate my own room someday too :D Someday I’d have my own room, and my own house! XD hhaa

  2. adastra adastra says:

I love how you’ve sorted your books. And hey, I have the same kitchen bar (where your microwave is)! But since I moved in with my boyfriend, it’s now stored at my parent’s house.

  3. Karin Karin says:

  4. maria maria says:

i love your kitchen cabinets, so cuteee… i am a sucker for old style:) tiny stove though never seen one so small =)
my cats lie exactly the same on my computer desk all the time hahaa!

  5. Kristine Kristine says:

Your apartment looks very nice! And you can definitely tell that the design has changed. I like that cute star table :)

  6. kitty kitty says:

Oh man… looking at those pics makes me want to go clean the hell ot of my apartment. Is it a studion apartment?

    You forgot the bathroom!

  7. Kristen Kristen says:

your apartment is too cute! i hope when i get a nice, small, cozy, apartment that it’s this adorable. (can you tell that i dream about this 24/7? :P )

  8. Mallory Mallory says:

OMG, I LOVE your apartment! It looks so freaking cozy! But … Is it bad that when I get my own apartment, I’ll probably still decorate it in a teenager-ish way? :O I’m betting they’re’ll be Green Day posters everywhere still, and My Little Ponies on the shelves … LOL. Ahhh, I’m an eternal child. :P

But ANYWAYS, yes, I love your home. I love the fact you’re making the tiles black AND white, too! I looove that look.

Ahhh, if only I could find a job and a way out of this dump of a city … :(

  9. Maria Maria says:

Vad kul att se. :) Och yay, färgsorterade böcker!

  10. Zanna Zanna says:

Oh, vilken mysig lägenhet du verkar ha! Och kul med jämförelsebilder ^_^

  11. Angie Angie says:

You have an awesome sense of decoration style! I love the light slate-blue walls and the black and white. I can’t get over how sweet it looks. The skullxbones table cloth you had in the first pic is great. If I had one I would hang it up in my office. :D

  12. Emily Emily says:

Sorry.. I didn’t realise you are Swedish.
Yeah… I can be quite protective of Britain. :P
(I have a Welsh accent I thought you’d like to know)

  13. Jessica Jessica says:

Oooh! Very nice! I really like what you’ve done with the place! Lovely! You should do this again if you’re still there three years from now!

  14. Daniella Daniella says:

It definitely shows that your tastes have matured, but in a good way. I really like that star table you made. I’m impressed. I made a bookshelf in shop class, but… it looks rather horrid lol

  15. Ashley Ashley says:

I  the changes to your loft. It looks sophisticated and very clean. The kitchen is and the closet area is my favorite. You have so many books it makes me jealous. :P

  16. Beara Beara says:

You are awesome taste and design skills, but you already know that hah. Your flat is .. I’m jealous to say the least. I have a lot of things I need to get rid of and then there are some things that I’ll never part with.. Childish memories, pfff.

I really like how clean everything is. I die every time I see someone taking “sexy” pictures of themselves and there’s nothing but trash and clothes lying around in the background. It’s like a train wreck for me. I don’t care what’s actually going on in the picture, I’ll focus on the.. nasty. O.o

Anyway — adore it. All of it. Especially the gun replica.. but I think you posted that on here once before and I drooled over it then, too.

  17. April April says:

I love the way your room was designed now! To think that you decorate it yourself. I want to steal your mirror!

Can you design mine too? LOL.

  18. Angie Angie says:

Hey I don’t if you knew about it but there’s a free font that has the same name as you:

  19. Aly Aly says:

Your apartment looks so awesome! It’s stylish but very personalized at the same time…I think your personality really shines through. Mind you, it also looked pretty cool back in ‘06, but like you said yourself, the current decor is more mature and it looks like you’re a lot more settled there than in ‘06. :)

*sigh* Now you’re making me wish I had my own apartment…but alas I don’t have the dosh. :( Guess I’ll just have to make do with mutilating my own room in my dad’s house for the time-being, lol.

  20. Marianne Marianne says:

That looks absolutely awesome. :) The shelves are cool. And I LOVE the star table you made yourself.

You’re really good at designing. :)

  21. Shaina Shaina says:

Wow. O_O Your book collection is amazing. I love how they’re organized by color. And I love the curved shelves! That’s a nice touch.

You have a very unique style and it’ s very inspiring. I hope my first apartment is that chic. It really is interesting how a person’s style matures in only three years.

:) :D :P 8) ;)    :? :| :/ :O :( >:( >:) more »
