It’s amazing how much happier I’ve become since I started studying. I can ignore all the things that used to bring me down because now at least I’m doing something to change my situation. I’m getting an education which will get me a job I like which will get me money which will get me more freedom. It’s a plan and I’m following it. It’s great to feel that I’m moving forward again rather than being stuck at some dead end job. Retail, I’m through with you!

I went to my old job (the thrift store) yesterday. The book section looked chaotic. Whoever’s in charge of it now clearly isn’t as good at organizing things as I am. It was a bit hard to see after spending hours and hours making that section of the store perfect. I had to remind myself that it’s not my problem since I don’t work there any more. Still, it made me kind of sad seeing something I’ve worked so hard with ruined.

Speaking of something entirely different… I’ve reorganized my showcase.

This is what it looked like in December.

Then because of my ever-growing book collection I had to put some books in it. I also removed the glasses since I realized decorating your home with wine glasses doesn’t look that good.

Yesterday when I put even more books in it I reorganized it again to make room for more stuff since I don’t have many places in my apartment to put stuff like this (vases etc).

Lantern, pirate gun replica and vase.

Oil burner, small chest + dragons and bottle.

My hair really hasn’t changed that drastically, I exagerated a lot haha. I still have really long hair, it’s mainly the colour that changed. I’m glad I went for it and dyed my hair brown though. I had been thinking about it for ages and I was scared that it would look bad but decided “screw it!!!” and dyed it. So woohoo :) Sorry I’m going on a bit..

It’s soo good that you’re making big changes in your life for the best. I hate it when people give up on life for whatever reason. You go girl haha :P

  3. Aly Aly says:

That’s great that you’re feeling happier now that you’re studying. I understand what you mean – it’s a good feeling to know that you’re doing what’s needed to get to where you want to go in life. And you can feel proud of yourself for doing that too. :)

I love what you’ve done to your showcase btw! I love all those ornaments, especially the replica pirate gun and the small bluish vase. :)

  4. Cara Cara says:

Hey! *sigh* I need to get a job. lol. I just have NO TIME! O.o
This summer… perhaps I can get a job and make some extra pocket money. ;)

Ohhh! Looks all neat! You should see my shelves! It’s beautiful chaos! lol.

  5. Kristen Kristen says:

I’m really happy that you are enjoying your studies. :]
And I love your little showcase there. I should invest in one considering all the shit I have. :P

  6. Sean Sean says:

What are you studying? I’m glad you enjoy it, it’s always good to feel like your moving forward. That gun looks awesome, wish we had more room to display stuff here.

  7. Lady Lady says:

I’m glad you are finally being optimistic! Everything will turn out great as long as you work hard.

  8. Justin Justin says:

It’s awesome that you’re going back to school and feeling good about it. I desperately need to graduate, I’ve been in college for 6 years now (over here it’s supposed to last 4) and I’m dying to get rid of my retail job and do something with my degree. Good luck to you, and the showcase looks cute!

  9. Alyssa Alyssa says:

I’m glad you’re feeling happier now that you’re studying! It’s a nice feeling to be working towards something you really want to do as opposed to working a dead-end job.

Your showcase looks great! I love the way you’ve organized it with just a few books on each shelf complemented by the decorations. Those are some neat decorations too. I especially love the pirate gun replica and the chest & dragons.
