I love CSN. Oh my god how I love CSN today.
CSN is short for Centrala studienämnden which translates to National Board of Student Aid. Basically it’s a governmental board which handles student benefits and student loans. I go to college and get money from CSN. Most of the money is a student loan but some of it is student benefits which I don’t have to pay back.
Anyway, I’ve had major problems with my student loan. First I wasn’t getting any money at all, then I got money but would have to pay back part of it and then all of a sudden I find out I get to keep all the extra money I got. I’m not going to go into details about how and why since it’s all very complicated but basically CSN made a mistake and paid me more money than I should have and since the mistake was theirs and not mine I get to keep the money. Of course most of it is loan money which I still have to pay back one day when I’m finished with college but it’s still great since there’s a limit on how much money you can get from them each month and this means that I got a double income for January. It was quite a turn of events after all the trouble I’ve had with them these past months. So, that’s why I love CSN today.
I’m going to save part of my extra money for summer and with the rest I bought a laptop.

Yayyy!! Congrats. I had student loans – they are such a pain. But you gotta love the “extra” money
I’m glad you got a nice little surprise! That’s cool that you get some money that you don’t have to pay back. I have to pay back all of the money I borrowed. It sucks.
It’s a good thing you have such stuff in your country. I don’t have any idea if we have that kind of service. Because if we do, I’m sure there are no out-of-school youth here. Oh well. Yay! The laptop seems so powerful!

My brother has the exact same laptop! Seemed pretty decent, except my brother has vista… 7 is like, way better.

Ah its great when surprises like this happens, gotta love the extra cash and you put it to good use.
My country doesn’t really have student loans where they give you money, the only way that happens is if you’re on a scholarship.
Student loans are pretty awesome to an extent just because you get money but of course it is only temporary and you do have to pay it back someday lol. I pretty much large in debt with student loans. Yikes. Good thing that it was their fault so you get to keep the money! I wish that could happen to me!
You were asking about my Olympic break. It is what you think it is (I think .. haha). The winter olympics 2010 are being held here in Vancouver, Canada and it’s starting in 2 days. So all schools have a 2 week break because of it because they want everyone to be involved. Also it’s going to be hell getting around with traffic and tourists galore so it would be impossible to attend school and just get around in general. Since the torch is going to be going around our school area on Thursday some of my profs decided we don’t even need to come to class because it would be impossible for us to get home!
