Some go to a party or the pub on a Friday night. I stayed at home watching the Ronja Rövardotter (Ronja the Robber’s Daughter) movie from 1984. It’s a Swedish classic.
I’ve been planning to put up black tile decor ever since I moved into this apartment but it’s not until today I finally got it done.
After:
Before:
It looks good with the black floor.
These are the things which has been changed in the kitchen since I moved in: new stove, new fridge, new floor (from beige to black), new colour on the walls (from purple to pink) and now finally black tile decor. I would love new cupboards but that’s something which would cost a lot.
So far the only things I’ve actually paid for in the kitchen is the floor and tile decor. The walls were so sloppily painted that I complained to the landlord which had them repainted in a colour of my choice. The fridge was broken and the stove ancient and in need of replacement. That’s the good thing about renting, I don’t have to pay for major appliances and if something is unprofessionally done (like the previous walls paint) the landlord is obligated to fix it.
Starting the day with Toblerone cappuccino. I love chocolate coffee.

Today I’ve spent more than three hours going through my basement storage room sorting out what to throw away and what to give to a second hand shop. I ended up with two boxes and four paper bags full of stuff to donate to the shop. That plus two book cases.
And this is everything I threw away. Well most of it anyway. By the time I thought of taking a photo I had already carried out some of the stuff.
I don’t do these cleanouts very often since I don’t like throwing away stuff. For me to throw something away it will either have to be damaged or have been laying around unused for many years. Of course a lot of the things I threw away was pure garbage. Like all the empty boxes laying around since my move.
After the cleanout I left a box of old electric stuff which I’m going to leave to the recycling center outside my basement storage room. When I went down to the basement again two hours later the old printer was gone from the box. I’m not sure whether it works or not since I haven’t used it in a long time but hopefully it does and whoever took it can use it now. My trash, someone else’s treasure. I would have left it to the second hand shop had I been sure it worked but since I wasn’t and it didn’t have any ink I decided to leave it to the recycling center instead. Now it came into someone else’s hands anyway. I think that’s great.
When I first moved out of my parents house to my own apartment I lived in Hultsfred. There weren’t any interesting home decor stores there and even if there had been I didn’t have a lot of money. Thus I bought the cheapest kitchenware I could find. None of it looked very interesting. Except for my plates, even though I bought them at the grocery store they did look nice and I still use them. Problem is I also still use all the boring stuff I bought back then. So today I took step one towards upgrading my kitchen. Here’s some new kitchenware I bought from my favourite home decor store Lagerhaus.
And here’s some everyday luxury. Half price “räkbakelse” (shrimp pastry). It’s a form of smörgåstårta, a Scandinavian dish.

When I was in Morocco I bought a bag of their traditional mint tea plus one bag of lemon tea, which both looked suspiciously similar to more illegal kinds of dried leafs. I was a bit worried bringing it home since I was convinced the customs would think it was drugs. After all Morocco is one of the world’s biggest producers of marijuana. Of course they would realize their mistake pretty fast but I had horrible images in my head of being escorted away by the cops while everyone started and speculated about what I’ve done wrong. That never happened since they probably had dogs smell the bags. They had a dog smelling all the passengers when we exited the plane as well. Is that common or was it just because the place came from Morocco?
If we wanted to buy weed we could have done so many times. We were offered to buy drugs at least fifteen times. I found the situation rather funny. How they out in the open tried to sell us something illegal which for sure would send them to a nasty Moroccan jail had the police caught them. It was just so weird, anyone could have heard their sales pitch. Perhaps poverty drove them to it or maybe greed. All I know is it was very different from Sweden. In Sweden when you’re out shopping you’re definitely not offered to buy drugs by strangers.

Today I got the monthly package from TamponsForFree.se. Their idea is simple. Every month you get a package with free tampons and a flyer with info about a product. Every month has a different campaign which often includes discounts for said product. After receiving your package you log into the site and answer a couple of questions about the campaign and with that you’re guaranteed another free package of tampons the next month. This months campaign is Maxosol which is a product you can use to get tanned skin without having to tan which also protects your skin when you’re out in the sun.
Note that the site is in Swedish.

Yesterday was my six years on Last.fm anniversary. Last.fm is basically a site which lists the music you listen to. You download an app to your computer and/or phone and Last.fm creates charts of the music you listen to on your profile. You can see your top artists and top tracks. After a while it gets really interesting.
Back in 2006 I ripped (ripping is the transferring of audio or video from a CD to a computer) my entire CD collection and packed away my CD-player. Since then I’ve only been listening to music on my computer, therefore every single song I’ve played during the past six years is listed on Last.fm. That’s why looking at my charts is so interesting.
During these past six years I’ve listened to 111006 songs, making it an average of fifty-one songs a day. My top artist is Manic Street Preachers with 16863 plays and my top track Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) by My Chemical Romance with 1279 plays.
Feel free to add me as a friend on Last.fm.
I made a vector portrait of blogger Moa.
