Just a quick update

1. I’m starting a new job tomorrow. It’s just a one day a week thing where I’ll paint houses and do gardening work at a open air museum. I’m looking forward to working outside since I try to spend as much time as I can outside during summer.

2. My younger sister gave birth to a baby boy today. She’s the first of my siblings to have a child so it’s pretty cool being an aunt now.

3. The summer balcony project is almost finished. Today I bought a parasol for the balcony. This weekend I’m going to buy a black fake grass rug for it and plant some strawberry plants in the new red pots I bought today.

Book spine poetry

I first heard about book spine poetry from Maria and I just had to try it myself. Book spine poetry is simply making poems out of book titles. I translated the poems to English. Just the words, not the titles themselves. If I had done that the poems would have made no sense whatsoever in English.

bokryggspoesi
En gyllene bur
Bakom stängda dörrar
Himmelsbarnet
Solens dotter
Vingklippt
Spårlöst försvunnen

Translation:
A golden cage
Behind closed doors
The child of heaven
Daughter of the sun
Wing clipped
Gone without a trace

Need some input here

I sometimes feel that my blog is boring. Everyone else seems to write much more interesting blogs than me.

What do you want me to write about? Does my blog need more funny entries? More about politics and current events? More photos of me? More home decor? More shopping? Should I write about music, movies and books? More about what I do during the days? About my job? My cats? My clothes? My art?

Got any input? What is it that you like about my blog? Any particular kind of posts I write which interests you?

My view

I love the view from my balcony on the seventh floor. I snapped this photo ten minutes ago. The parking lot lies in shadows but up on the seventh floor I have sun until the very last rays of sunshine when the sun sets. It’s 9:07 PM now and the sun will set in about forty minutes.

Music I loved as a teenager

It’s hard picking favourite songs but these are a couple of my all time favourites which I all discovered when I was 15-18 years old. These bands were the ones I listened to the most during that time in my life. They’re still in my top twenty of bands I love even though I don’t listen to them as much as I used to.

In no particular order:

Nirvana – In His Hands

If you’re not a Nirvana fan you’ve most likely never heard this song. It’s a rare track and one of the first Nirvana songs I heard, besides the famous hits which were all over MTV.
