I bought this plant table for my balcony. This year I’ll have a pretty summer balcony. I’ve already bought some flowers, plants and seeds and I’m going to buy even more soon.

The way I decorate my home has changed slightly over the years. Here are some photos beginning in 2002, ending this week.
2002 – ROOM AT MY PARENTS HOUSE IN VÄSTERÅS.
This is where I spent my high school years.
So I’ve finally got a new floor in the living room. I also got rid of a shelf and bought a new foot stool. After looking at these photos go have a look at the My Home gallery which has been updated.

I’ve been planning to put up black tile decor ever since I moved into this apartment but it’s not until today I finally got it done.

It looks good with the black floor.
These are the things which has been changed in the kitchen since I moved in: new stove, new fridge, new floor (from beige to black), new colour on the walls (from purple to pink) and now finally black tile decor. I would love new cupboards but that’s something which would cost a lot.
So far the only things I’ve actually paid for in the kitchen is the floor and tile decor. The walls were so sloppily painted that I complained to the landlord which had them repainted in a colour of my choice. The fridge was broken and the stove ancient and in need of replacement. That’s the good thing about renting, I don’t have to pay for major appliances and if something is unprofessionally done (like the previous walls paint) the landlord is obligated to fix it.
When I first moved out of my parents house to my own apartment I lived in Hultsfred. There weren’t any interesting home decor stores there and even if there had been I didn’t have a lot of money. Thus I bought the cheapest kitchenware I could find. None of it looked very interesting. Except for my plates, even though I bought them at the grocery store they did look nice and I still use them. Problem is I also still use all the boring stuff I bought back then. So today I took step one towards upgrading my kitchen. Here’s some new kitchenware I bought from my favourite home decor store Lagerhaus.
And here’s some everyday luxury. Half price “räkbakelse” (shrimp pastry). It’s a form of smörgåstårta, a Scandinavian dish.

Today my dad put in the wooden floor I bought a year ago. That means I’m finally rid of the fugly, dirty, broken beige plastic floor in the living room! I’m so happy because that floor really brought down the whole room. No matter what I did, no matter how pretty everything looked, the room still looked awful because of that fugliness. I won’t show you any photos yet because we need to put in new baseboards first and until that is done my living room is chaos. You see I had to move a lot of furniture which I can’t put back in place until the baseboards are in place. Right now my huge book case is standing in front of the windows and all my books are packed in paper bags in the kitchen. So, photos later.
My baby girl Sarah don’t want to eat today. Yesterday she ate three times though and I was so happy I snapped a photo of her. If I believed in god I would pray right now but I don’t. I already did pray anyway, just in case there is a god. I don’t think he listened. To quote Sylvia Plath: “I talk to god but the sky is empty”.
Sarah darling.
Had Easter dinner at my parents house and got a easter egg with some candy and make-up.

I’ve read some positive things about the fatty liver condition Sarah suffers from as a result of the kidney inflammation. Apparently a cat with fatty liver can survive if force fed long enough. I read about someone who fed her cat for about six weeks and the cat survived and went back to full health! I’ll give Sarah a chance. If the medication can fix the kidneys all I have to do is make sure she eats. I will give this a try as long as she continues to get better, which I think she is.
Sarah is resting. Nicky is trying to get to the plate of food placed in the compartment with the frame above him. It’s Sarah’s food which he isn’t to touch.

I’m boooored! I tried making a new layout but I have no inspiration whatsoever. It’s really annoying since I think this one is boring and I know I can do better. I also feel like baking cupcakes since I have the freezer full of fruit. However I’m on a diet so the fruit is to be eaten with yoghurt or made into smoothies, not cupcakes. So baking isn’t going to happen either. When I’m this bored I often resort to reorganizing things just to have something to do but you come to a point when everything is so perfectly organized there’s nothing to improve. I guess there’s nothing to do but watch TV. I hate having to resort to that when I have all this energy to actually do something more important. I need a project of some kind.
Here’s some photos of a project I undertook a while ago on a night just like this.
Before. Boring old kitchen cabinet which doesn’t get cleaner than this since it’s so old.
After. Spiced up with gift wrapping paper.
I did the same with the drawers.

The weather was lovely today but I was too tired to take a walk. At first that felt ok and I spent a couple of hours tweaking my site, installing custom smilies and making the site more IE safe. Writing special code, which crappy old versions of IE which doesn’t follow coding standards understands, that is. Then around 5 PM I looked outside at the sun which would set within the hour and thought “crap, I should have taken that walk” and then I felt stupid for having wasted an entire day of sunshine like that.
To get something out of the day I decided to clean. The kitchen was a mess. I hate messes. At least the kitchen is the only place in my apartment which is ever a mess. I always put everything back in it’s place after use which makes my home a perfect order. Except for the dishes, which I sometimes let pile up for a week. Other than that though, my home is perfection. People ask me how I keep it so tidy and I constantly find myself puzzled over how other people don’t keep their homes tidy, because it’s so easy. Everything needs a place and after you’ve used something put it back in that place. How hard can it be? Seriously.
Messy.
Not messy.

I know this post is ridiculously late but my Christmas presents are just too great not to show off. So here they are.

Ceramics. Most of it Gerbera, the ceramic brand Swedish TV chef Leila Lindholm uses in her TV-show.
