It’s funny how so many people think the society we live in is somehow at the end line. Like we’ve somehow reached the goal culturally and socially. That we’re done evolving and the norms of today will last forever. It’s ridiculous really. I think we’ll recognize little of our society in 100 years time, just as we see very little of our society in the society 100 years ago.

This is something anti-feminists in particular should think of. They think feminism has gone too far and that the traditional gender roles are natural. Well, that’s what men 100 years ago said as well. They thought the gender roles which left few options but being a housewife caring for the kids open for women was natural. A female politician or police officer was something unthinkable because that was something unheard of at the time. And here we are 100 years later. Females can be both politicians and police officers, despite what people thought about that 100 years ago.

I find it sad that my time here on earth is limited. The fact that the world one day will go on without me and evolve into something I can’t even imagine, brings me down. I would like to see how far science can go. I want to see what the world is like in 100 or 200 or 1000 years time. It will be different from now I’m sure, but how different it’s hard to imagine. All I know is I would like to see it. It’s like we’re on a bus going from point a to z but we’re pushed off the bus at point b, left wondering what’s ahead of us. And we’ll never know.

It’s not like my site is private in any way. Google my name and you will find it. Since it’s that easy to find my site I don’t want to share everything on here. I have no problem sharing my problems with friends, nor online friends. It’s the people I dislike who are the problem. And the people I don’t know but who knows who I am. I don’t want people like that ending up on my site reading about every aspect of my life. I want to choose who to share things with. That’s what I do with my blogging. I choose what to share and what not to share. Generally I don’t write about things which I’m not comfortable with the entire world knowing. It’s my one simple rule. Is it ok if the entire world knows this about me? No? Then don’t blog about it. Yes? Blog.

One personal thing I’ll share with you though. I don’t have a job any more, but it was my choice so it’s ok. Sometimes things just don’t work out.

So why did I make such a cute pink blog theme for a blog with such a serious topic? Because the blog wasn’t meant to be a purely political blog from the beginning. Only a place to write about things going on in Sweden and typically Swedish phenomenons. Maybe I will write about other things than politics there too, but for now, Lollipopocoasterland is 100% Swedish politics.
