Here’s another photo of my new haircut. I like fluffy hair. After all, I’m an old panda. For you non-swedes, that’s a subculture. Google “panda poppare”. That’s the way I looked when I was younger.
Other than looking fabulous I’m not doing much. I’m sick actually. The fewer comes and goes and I’m coughing. So why do I look so fabulous when I’m home with the flu? Well actually I’ve barely touched my hair today. The teased style simply lasts surprisingly well. All I had to do today was comb and spray it a bit. Took like one minute. I didn’t want to look like I got straight out of bed when I went to buy dinner.
Other than that short arrend I’ve spent the entire day working on a digital painting. It’s coming out… not like I visualized it. But my paintings never do. I’m not talented enough to make them come out as amazing as I see them in my head. I’m very new to digital painting though so I guess not much else is expected. I’m not going to show you what I’m working on because the only thing worse than a bad painting is a unfinished bad painting. There’s still hope you know. When I’m done with it maybe it’ll look good. I give you this. It’s a portrait and it’s gothic. It’ll probably just take forever to finish. I worked on my last digital painting for a month.

Chai tea, an episode of The X-files and scented candles in a dimly lit room is my way of trying to embrace the darker season. Since I’m into the whole positive thinking and life is what you make of it thing I’m trying hard to find positive aspects in something as horrible as autumn even though all I want to do when I look outside the window is go to bed and sleep until April. I have to admit though, drinking tea in a candle lit room is rather cosy. And not something I do during the summer. Mostly because the temperature in my apartment stays around +30 C for most of summer and hot tea and candles really isn’t what I think of when I feel like I’m melting.
I made a Halloween decoration today. I think I’m going to redo it though, with thicker paper. This one is made of thin glossy gift wrapping paper which wrinkles. The thought is that the silhouette of the bat should be seen through the window from outside in the evening when the lamp in the kitchen is lit. When the blinds aren’t shut that is.

I’m not sure if I’ll do more decorations for Halloween. My apartment is spooky as it is all year round. I mean, on one wall I’ve got a plush bat hanging from a candle holder with a black candle and spider crawling on it. In my book case I’ve got a bottle of Tru Blood, on my desk there’s a undead warlock action figure. Then there’s of course the salt and pepper shaker zombies and their coffin, the hip flask with the skull and crossbones, the skull dish brush and the list goes on. Not to mention the overall gothic feel of my living room with the black chandelier and other gothic victorian details. For me, every day is Halloween.

Hello! It’s been a while but I’m back now. I didn’t mean to take a break from my site. It just happened. Weeks became months and I didn’t have time nor energy for blogging. Like most of you probably know I recently moved from Hultsfred back to Västerås, the city I lived in between 1999 and 2004. Packing up my home and then unpacking it was a tedious process. Then I had to decorate my new apartment which included a lot of shopping and some furniture renovations.
The apartment itself has also been undergoing renovations. When I moved in the place looked kind of shitty. The kitchen was absolutely horrible with sloppily painted purple walls, a ugly beige floor, a tiny stove, a malfunctioning fridge and a dirty ceiling. The rest of the apartment was also very dirty since the last tenant didn’t clean it as well as he should have before he moved out. I know my rights as a tenant so I complained about the walls, the fridge and the cleaning to the landlord who had the fridge replaced, the kitchen walls and ceiling painted and the apartment cleaned. I also got a new stove. And I got all of this for free. With the new floor I paid for myself the kitchen is now almost fully renovated.
Kitchen before renovations.
Kitchen after renovations.

I’ve been terribly busy with school lately hence the lack of blogging. Actually school made me kinda forget all about my site for a week or so. I didn’t even check to see if I had any new comments, didn’t even think of Whirlwind. Maybe that’s not weird to others but it is to me since Whirlwind has been my biggest hobby for years and something I check daily.
School is going well but I wish I was more motivated. Don’t get me wrong, my courses are interesting and fun and I do my studying but I often have a hard time concentrating and take many breaks which easily stretch from the planned 15 minutes to 2 hours. So far I manage to do all the reading I need to do and hand in the assignments on time though so I guess I’m doing well anyway.
Here’s a little something I did in my 3D modelling class. My first assignment was to make a coffee cup in the program 3Ds Max. Here it is in perspective plus front view.

Some of you might remember that Whirlwind used to have a art gallery. I took it down last year after major remodelling of my site and haven’t had the motivation to re-code it to fit the new code until now. For several hours this morning I’ve worked on putting together a new art gallery. It’s the same old art but I’ve also added a couple of photographies. I’m no photographer but when you take thousands of photos every year of anything and everything you’re bound to snap a few that actually looks good. Going through my photo folders I found seven… That is a pitiful number considering the total number of digital photos I have but mind you I haven’t gone through all of them and mind you again most of my pictures are taken at drunken parties and aren’t really suitable for a serious art gallery. But don’t you worry if you really wanted to see me and my friends making arses out of ourselves. My next project is to get the Photo Blog gallery up and running again. That’s where stuff like that will end up.
Anyway, have a look at the new creativity gallery which holds my art, furniture design, sewing and photography.

I’m not a great photographer but I like this one. You know you’re artistic (or weird) when you get a nosebleed and take out the camera to take a picture of it.

These are a couple of photos I took back in 2001 and 2002. They’re depicting an oak tree through the different seasons. I’m not a brilliant photographer and the photos should really be viewed in their original size for the best result. Still, here they are. And I really like them. One by one they’re not that impressive but they’re cool as a series. I’m not sure about which months the photos were taken but they’re at least in the right order.

August, I think.

I’m in a weird place right now. I’m bored with my routines and yet I don’t really feel like doing anything or seeing anyone. I’m not really up for leaving my apartment unless I have to but I do need something new to do. A hobby. A new hobby which doesn’t force me to see anyone or go out. Kind of like all my hobbies. Except for parties and such.
I paint, I write, I read, I sew, I have this site and I occasionaly play computer games. What more hobbies are there that are best done in solitude? I’ve thought of scrapbooking but that’s not really my thing. I thought about Feng Shui aswell but I’m not too fond of the idea that mystical energy forces should be what decides where my furniture should be placed. Origami seems too dull and I wouldn’t know what to do with my paper figures anyway. I’m not a fan of cooking. I can’t do any carpentry in my apartment. I’m not into photography. Making jewelry is fun, for ten minutes. I tried wicca with tarot cards and all that when I was a teenager but I’m too sceptical for such things nowadays.
What more is there?!
Give me tips of fun indoor hobbies! Preferably creative ones. I’m an artist!
