I don’t like mineral water but when I heard of Loka’s new sparkling “Loka likes old school” flavours, I knew I just had to try them. The three flavours are “strawberry ice cream”, “chocolate shake” and “lemon pie”.
So far I’ve tried strawberry ice cream and chocolate shake. They really taste like what they’re supposed to taste like. It’s rather fascinating actually. Weirdly it’s doesn’t taste all that weird drinking water flavoured like ice cream and chocolate.
If I liked mineral water I would have loved these. I would probably have liked them in the form of soda as well. Now I don’t like mineral water so even if these tasted better than the average mineral water I probably won’t buy these again. I’ll try the lemon pie flavour though. Gotta try all three.
A question. If you’ve tried these, what did you think? And you guys who live in other countries where Loka isn’t sold, would have tried these if you could? Do you think you would have liked them?
Andreas bought us a yellow princess cake cake for easter.
Yesterday I decided to bake cupcakes. First of all I needed to decide on a theme. I sometimes decide on a colour theme first and then pick a flavour fitting for it. Here is my supply of liners, sprinkles and food colour.
I set on a pink theme and began baking. Strawberry cupcakes with white chocolate/cream cheese frosting coloured pink and strawberry sprinkles.
With these liners.
Today I made the frosting and decorated the cupcakes. The frosting wasn’t as runny as it looked, which made me pick a too small pastry bag nozzle. I would have needed a bigger nozzle for a more even flow of the frosting. For a look more like this. Less than perfect frosting or not, the cupcakes still tasted very good.
I love the golden light of sunsets. Today when the sun set my kitchen was filled with that beautiful light and I wanted to take a picture of myself in it. While I was photographing myself Nicky jumped up on the microwave on the table behind me and began cuddling with me. I got this wonderful photo of us. Is he adorable or what?
I made this delicious bean salsa today. It’s kidney beans, tomato, red onion, parsley, olive oil and lemon juice. I loved this and I don’t even like beans that much.
Today I made lángos for dinner. Lángos is deep fried bread which you top with different things. My favourite topping is sour cream with pressed garlic, chopped red onion, roe and grated cheese. As seen in the photo.
Another thing I did was the annual battle against the fridge ice. For some reason ice builds up in my fridge and once a year (since I’m lazy) I remove it. This years ice had swallowed a jar of olives and a jar of pickled caper. Before I took this photo I had removed the jar of caper but the olives as you can see were still firmly lodged in the ice. The chunk of ice was huge. It took up the entire back of my fridge from the left side to the right. If food stood to close to it the food froze. If it stood too close to it for a longer period of time, well, look at the jar of olives.
I have the weirdest hangover cravings. Whenever I suffer from a hangover I want fruit. Today I wanted sliced pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple juice and chocolate milk. Plus pizza for dinner.
Despite the hangover I cleaned the apartment today. With my new pink bucket and mop. I already had a bucket and mop exactly like these but they were red. Red doesn’t match the pink bathroom where I keep the mop and bucket so I had to buy new ones in the right colour. Yes, I’m obsessed with colour themes. No, I don’t think that’s weird.
Now I’m going to eat my pizza and watch TV. Bye for now!
I’m trying to get back to being healthy since I’ve let myself slip horrendously since last summer. I’m back to walking/jogging/running 5 kilometres on the treadmill every day and I’m avoiding eating things like pictured in the photo below too often. I’m not forbidden to eat ice cream, or anything else for that matter, I’ll just not eat it as often from now on. There’s no “forbidden food” for me. I don’t believe in those diets, like LCHF, in which certain things are strictly forbidden. Everything is ok, in the right amount! Even ice cream, alcohol and pizza.
This is the gingerbread house of fail. I didn’t make it, just decorated and put it together. I had some problems putting it together, hence the runny icing.
This past week I’ve been busy with all kinds of Christmas preparations but I haven’t posted a single photo of anything I’ve been doing so here’s a bunch of pictures, mostly of this years decorations.
Here’s the 2012 Christmas tree. Same as last year + three new sets of ornaments. I call it my Winter Wonderland Christmas tree because I think it looks like something straight out of a Christmas fairytale.
I began today with reading about yesterday’s snowstorm in the newspaper while drinking caffelatte with lots of cream.
